Poor leadership & dithering are reasons for JFLAG & Jamaica AIDS Support’s homelessness
The embarrassing situation of JFLAG's eviction from their rented offices along with JASL with the code of silence including the dithering and poor responses to homelessness via the requisite programs and monitoring.
While those dates that are rescheduled are being picketed by one of the most cohesive raft of LGBT activism sweeping America against any Jamaican artist, the Jamaica Observer yesterday resorted to what amounts to Plagiarism by regurgitating Traci McGregor's press release (Buju Mgmt team member)from far back as October 5, 2009 and using it to hail Buju as standing up to gays and being successful in a piece called "Buju Banton's Rasta Got Soul tour triumphs"
They probably need to look at all the dates and venues that have been cancelled with subsequent outrage expressed by not only gays but even city officials in a few instances. Shows have been cancelled especially the all important mainstream states that are avid music buyers such as California. This is the level of dishonesty the local media is up to and several comments posted to the page on the Observer's website yesterday were not published up until the creation of this post, only the ones supporting Buju were "allowed" to be viewed by the public, just goes to show that even the media seems in on a coverup of sorts.
It can be concluded that the tour is a disaster as opposition continues to mount in new cities that find out that he is arriving and go into immediate action lobbying the respective venues and even state or city officials. Many arm themselves with a copy of the song and translate the lyrics to English to present their arguments.
Simply put, the Stop Murder Music campaign has taken on a life of it's own in America now.

The Observer story was the laziest form of journalism: retyping a press release with just a couple of sentences changed.
It's unfortunate that BB is still able to find new venues at all at this late date, although I imagine they are smaller establishments now.
The campaign to get the tour cancelled did not just happen by itself: it is taking a lot of effort and organization by the gay community at grass roots level.
The Observer made no mention of this; not surprisingly, since its story was a regurgitated press release - propaganda rather than journalism.
It's now possible to see how this will end; that, even with most dates cancelled, the tour will still be deemed a "success" by the Jamaican press and our efforts will be ignored or disparaged.
the Jamaican public though knows fully well that Americans especially the gay community is very vigilant so there maybe some dismissal suprisingly of stories like this.

a 2009 Word focus report where the history of the major explosion of homeless msms occurred and references to the party DVD that was leaked to the bootleg market which exposed many unsuspecting patrons to the public (3:59), also the caustic remarks made by former member of Parliament in the then JLP administration.
The agencies at the time were also highlighted and the homo negative and homophobic violence met by ordinary Jamaican same gender loving men.
The late founder of the CVC, former ED of JASL and JFLAG Dr. Robert Carr was also interviewed.
At 4:42 that MSM is still homeless to this date but has managed to eek out a living but being ever so cautious as his face is recognizable from the exposed party DVD

Steps to Take When Contronted or Arrested by Police
a) Ask to see a lawyer or Duty Council
b) Only give name and address and no other information until a lawyer is present to assist
c) Try to be polite even if the scenario is tensed) Don’t do anything to aggravate the situation
e) Every complaint lodged at a police station should be filed and a receipt produced, this is not a legal requirement but an administrative one for the police to track reports
f) Never sign to a statement other than the one produced by you in the presence of the officer(s)
g) Try to capture a recording of the exchange or incident or call someone so they can hear what occurs, place on speed dial important numbers or text someone as soon as possible
h) File a civil suit if you feel your rights have been violatedi) When making a statement to the police have all or most of the facts and details together for e.g. "a car" vs. "the car" represents two different descriptions
j) Avoid having the police writing the statement on your behalf except incases of injuries, make sure what you want to say is recorded carefully, ask for a copy if it means that you have to return for it

The attempt to use old programmatic language by Maurice Tomlison to suggest MSMs have no access to condoms while the CVM newscast itself showed the movers holding the condoms in their hands they found on the site and saying the men were practicing safer sex should be instructive to ALL in view

CVM TV continued their coverage on Aug 30, 2012 of the story in their midday newscast of the Cargill eviction matter but disturbingly the men supposedly denied that they were commercial sex workers, CSWs which we know better, also the voice who indicated they were "Peer educators" clearly was lying, why would peer educators live in bushes? The real homeless men lost a golden opportunity to speak on their issues to the nation and by extension the world but instead the moment was hijacked by some other persons.

When Anderson asked Jamaicans for their perception on reviewing the buggery law, a big 61 per cent said they would "be less favourably inclined", while only seven per cent said they would "be more favourably inclined". Demand to be brought before a Resident Magistrate and have your lawyer ask the judge for bail j. Ask that any property taken from you be listed and sealed in your presence Cases of Assault:An assault is an apprehension that someone is about to hit you
The following may apply: 1) Call 119 or go to the station or the police arrives depending on the severity of the injuries
2) The report must be about the incident as it happened, once the report is admitted as evidence it becomes the basis for the trial
3) Critical evidence must be gathered as to the injuries received which may include a Doctor’s report of the injuries.
4) The description must be clearly stated; describing injuries directly and identifying them clearly, show the doctor the injuries clearly upon the visit it must be able to stand up under cross examination in court.
5) Misguided evidence threatens the credibility of the witness during a trial; avoid the questioning of the witnesses credibility, the tribunal of fact must be able to rely on the witness’s word in presenting evidence
6) The court is guided by credible evidence on which it will make it’s finding of facts
7) Bolster the credibility of a case by a report from an independent disinterested party.
